Icons & Statuses

Every coloured chip, icon and bar in AnchorPoint is listed here, grouped by where you'll run into it. If something on screen isn't obvious, search this page for the label next to it.

The marks below are the real ones from the application, rendered at the same size and colour you see in the product.

How to read a colour

AnchorPoint uses the same six colours everywhere. Once you know them, most chips explain themselves.

ColourMeaning
GreenHealthy, active, done. Nothing needed from you.
Orange / yellowNeeds attention, partially done, or approaching a limit.
RedStopped, failed, cancelled, or expired.
GreyInactive, finished, or nothing recorded yet. Not an error.
BlueIn progress, or public.
Outlined (no fill)Recorded by hand rather than processed automatically.
note

These are the application's colours, shown here exactly as they appear on screen. They stay the same whether you're reading this help site in light or dark mode.

Two things the sidebar doesn't tell you

Organization only appears for Super Admins. If you're an Admin you'll see the Administrator section but no Settings group beneath it — that's by design, not a fault.

Payments has no menu item of its own. You reach payments from a registration, or from the Payments tab on a student's record. See Payments.

Classes and courses

Delivery type

Every class and course carries a type chip. The same three types drive the tabs on the Classes page.

MarkWhere you'll see itWhat it meansWhat to do
GroupsIn-Person
Classes list, class header, course rowsTaught in a room at a location. Has dates, a room, and a seat capacity.
LanguageOnline
SameSelf-paced online coursework. No dates, no room, usually no seat limit.
LaptopVirtual / Zoom
SameTaught live, remotely, at a scheduled time.
One type, three names

The Classes tab calls it Virtual, the chip reads Virtual / Zoom, and the Course Type filter on the Courses page still says Blended. They are all the same thing. See the Glossary.

Visibility and state

MarkWhere you'll see itWhat it meansWhat to do
PublicPublic
Class header, course rowsBoth the class and its course are public, so students can find and register for it themselves.
PublicOffPrivate
SameHidden from the public register page. Admins enrol students manually. If a class should be bookable online, check the course is public too — a private course keeps its classes private.
CloseCancelled
Class header and listsThe class was cancelled. Its name is struck through in the list.
Archived
Courses, locations, instructorsRetired from use. It won't appear when scheduling new classes, but its history is intact.
AllInclusiveCapacity column, online classesNo seat limit — the class can't fill up.

Capacity bar

The Capacity column shows seats taken against the total, with a bar that changes colour as it fills.

FillColourMeaning
Under 70%GreenFilling normally.
70% to under 100%YellowNearly full.
100% or overRedFull. No more students can be added.

Registrations

This is the densest part of the application, and the one most worth knowing by heart.

Result

CloseFail
SameThe student failed. No certificate is issued.

PauseCircleOutlineDeferred

ForwardToInboxCertificate columnA physical certificate was mailed.Hover for the date it went out.

Money and notes on a row

MarkWhere you'll see itWhat it meansWhat to do
WarningAmberRegistration and deferral rowsThe student has paid more than they owe. Hovering reads “Has excess funds paid”.Not an error. Refund the excess, or apply it to another class.
StickyNote2Notes columnSomeone has left an admin note on this registration. A dash means there is none.

The status you'll question most

In My Classes and the student-facing views, one chip summarises the whole registration. It is worked out in a fixed order, and the first match wins:

  1. Cancelled →
    Cancelled
  2. Deferred →
    Deferred
  3. Any balance owing →
    Balance Due
  4. Passed →
    Passed
  5. Failed →
    Failed
  6. Otherwise →
    Confirmed
Why a student who passed shows "Balance Due"

Because the balance check comes before the result check. A student who passed the course but still owes money shows Balance Due, not Passed. The result is recorded correctly — take the payment and the chip flips to Passed.

Reminder delivery

The reminder column on a class roster shows two icons per student — email and text — coloured by how delivery went. Hover either for the exact wording.

MarkIcon and colourWhat it meansWhat to do
EmailGreenDelivered. Tooltip: “Email: Delivered”.
EmailYellowBounced. Tooltip: “Email: Bounced”.Check the address on the student's record.
EmailRedUndeliverable. Tooltip: “Email: Undeliverable”.The address is bad. Get a new one from the student.
EmailFaded greyNotifications have been disabled for this channel after repeated failures.Update the student's details to resume reminders.
EmailPlain greyNot sent yet. The reminder is still scheduled.
SmsFaded grey“Text: No phone is on file” — there is no mobile number to send to.Add a cell number to the student's record.
tip

A whole column of faded icons before a class usually means reminders were never switched on for it, not that delivery failed. Check Reminder Settings on the class page.

Formatting carries meaning too, and the same formatting can mean different things in different tables.
